Aretha "Punkin" Morris, 55, of Beaver Dam, Ky. passed away Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at the Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. She was born in Chicago, Il. on November 22, 1961. She was a homemaker and a member of Bible Baptist Church in Beaver Dam. Aretha enjoyed cooking, texting with her family loved her dogs and reading. She was preceded in death by her parents John and Betty Girten and daughter Susie Lindsey.

Mrs. Morris is survived by her husband of 31 years Richard Morris of Beaver Dam; Children Ricky Morris of Beaver Dam, Bonnie Daugherty (Josh) of Fordsville, Ky., Jamie Morris (Brooke) of Hartford, Erica Morris (Matthew Brown) of Magan, Jodie Morris of Beaver Dam; six grandchildren; four sisters Lena Massey (Greg) of Temple, Ga., Lisa Payne of Central City, Vicki Shields (Charlie) of Beaver Dam, Carolyn Girten of Beaver Dam; one brother Cecil Burden of Owensboro; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Funeral Service will be held at Smith Funeral Home on Friday, February 24, 2017 at 11:00 am with Bro. Cleatus Bowman officiating.
Burial will follow in the New Liberty Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 23 from 5-8 pm, Friday 8 am until time of service at Smith Funeral Home, Morgantown, Ky.
