Alta Barrow McKinney, 88, of Lexington, Kentucky, formally of Butler County, passed away Tuesday, April 23, 2013, at the Edgemont Healthcare in Cynthiana, Ky. Mrs. McKinney was born June 22, 1924 in Warren County to the late Elzie Barrow and Ellen Muntz Barrow. She was a longtime seamstress at Kanes and a member of the Sandy Creek Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband Earl McKinney, one daughter Dianne Lane and brother Estill Barrow.

Mrs. McKinney is survived by one daughter Darlene Ingram and husband Larry of Lexington, Ky.; three sons Kenneth McKinney and wife Halloween of White Plains, Ky., Roger McKinney of Echols, Ky. and Phillip McKinney of Russellville.; 13 grandchildren,
15 great-grandchildren and one brother Silas Barrow of California.

Funeral Service will be held at Smith Funeral Home, Friday, April 26, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. with Bro.Wayne Stewart officiating. Burial will follow in the Sandy Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, April 25, 2013, from 5:00 - 9:00 p.m. and Friday from 8:00 a.m. until time of service at Smith Funeral Home.
