Summer is the usual season for having fun and doing outdoor activities, but Morgantown residents must remember to be careful of the heat.

Lillian Embry of Morgantown, KY was among more than 700 full-time and part-time students who were recently named to the Dean's List for the Spring 2023 semester at West Kentucky Community and Technical College (WKCTC).

The Butler County Beauty Pageants concluded Saturday night with the Miss, Miss Teen, Miss Pre-Teen, and Little Miss & Mister contests.  Winners included: 

 Conley Grace Moore, daughter of Greg and Chasity Moore of Morgantown, was crowned Miss Butler County.

The Butler County Fair Pageants were held on Saturday, June 24, at Morgantown Elementary.  Eighty-one participants from birth to 7 years old competed.  Winners included:

0-6 Month Girls

Second runner-up: Margo Rose Clark, daughter of Drew and Gracie Clark or Bowling Green

First Runner-up: Bronleigh Stone LaMont, daughter of Paige Alford and Ethan LaMont of Leitchfield

The Owensboro Community & Technical College (OCTC) Dean's List recognizes the academic excellence of students in Spring 2023 who earned at least a 3.5 grade point average (GPA) while successfully completing 12 hours or more of coursework numbered 100 or above and part-time students enrolled in 3 to 11 credit hours who have a cumulative 3.5 GPA and have successfully completed a total of at least 15 KC

1991 class reunion is June 24th 2023 at the old high school cafeteria. Current middle school cafeteria. It will be from 6-8pm. Hebrews 12 catering will provide the food for the evening.

Held on June 10th from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

On Saturday afternoon, May 27th, members of the General Richard Butler Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution presented a certificate to Bethel Missionary Baptist Church recognizing them for their proper display of the American flag.
