Following the recognition portion of last week’s meeting honoring retiring Superintendent Scott Howard, members of the Butler County Board of Education approved a flurry of agenda items, including insurance renewal, salary schedule and employee handbook.  The Board met Tuesday, June 9, at the Butler County High School Auditorium.


Butler -Edmonson Community Early Childhood Council Offers Assistance to Early Childhood Settings

Members of the Butler Edmonson Community Early Childhood Council delivered “see thru” masks to the area’s early childhood providers in the two counties as regulated child care begins to re-open June 15.    Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, regulated child care providers were asked to close their doors on March 20, 2020 in an effort to help slow the spread of the virus.

Butler County Fiscal Court met in regular session on Monday, June 8, at the Butler County Courthouse. All magistrates - Stevie Givens, Kevin Phelps, Timmy Givens, David Whittinghill, and Dillon Bryant - were in attendance.

KSP Investigates a Fatal Shooting in Butler County

Roundhill, KY. (June 8th, 2020) – The Kentucky State Police, Post 3 in Bowling Green  was requested by the Butler County Sheriff's Department to investigate a fatal shooting that occurred just before 4:30 pm this afternoon.  KSP Troopers and Detectives responded to the scene of the shooting located on Sleepy Hollow Road in Butler County.
