2019 county tax rates complete, road employee receives certificate

The Butler County Fiscal Court meeting took place at the Butler County Courthouse on Monday, Sept. 9.

Butler County Clerk Sherry Johnson gave a presentation on the county tax rates for the 2019 fiscal year and received approval to begin sending them out.

Warren RECC Crews Dispatched to Aid in Hurricane Dorian Restoration

September 3, 2019 (Bowling Green, Ky.) On Tuesday morning, four Warren RECC crews left Kentucky bound for Okefenoke Rural Electric Membership Corporation (REMC) in Hilliard, Florida. The crews will help repair damage and restore power in areas hit by Hurricane Dorian.

GT students take trip to Memphis

The Butler County High School gifted and talented students were able to take a trip on Friday, August 16th to Memphis, Tennessee.

The trip began when a student expressed interest in wanting to see two of only 12 giant Pandas in the United States.

Social media school threat deemed not credible; BC Schools react to threat as a matter of precaution

A social media threat against possible school targets in both Kentucky and Arkansas have local school officials on heightened alert and they are working to inform all stakeholders of the situation.  No specific locations were identified. At this time the threat, which apparently originated from a gaming chat room, is considered not credible and unsubstantiated.
