Gova D. Bratcher

Gova D. Bratcher, 89, of Caneyville, passed away Friday, December 28, 2012 at the Grayson Manor Nursing Home in Leitchfield, KY.   

He was born on February 16, 1923 in Butler County, the son of the late Jimmie and Minnie (Sipes) Bratcher. He was a World War II Veteran where he received a Bronze Star and Good Conduct Medal. Gova was a carpenter and a member of the American Legion Post 81 of Leitchfield. 

He is survived by 2 children, Joan Hayes of Caneyville and Bobby Bratcher of Leitchfield, 4 grandchildren, Tez Hawkins (Scotty), Jake Bratcher, Bobbie Hayes (Amy) and Julie Embry (Timothy), 8 great grandchildren, Hootie and Rylie Hayes, Emily and Jenna Beth Embry, Jett, Maelee, Ty and Dain Hawkins, and several nieces and nephews. Other than his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Juanita and their son Jimmie Bratcher, 1 brother and 11 sisters. 

Funeral services will be Monday, December 31 at 1:00 p.m. at the Dermitt-Joyce Funeral Home in Caneyville. Bro. Gary Embry will be officiating. Burial will be in the Chapel Union Cemetery. 

Friends may call at the Dermitt-Joyce Funeral Home in Caneyville Sunday after 3:00 p.m. and Monday from 9:00 a.m. until time of service.

Gova and Juanita were always two of my favorite people. Their faces were always a joy to see. He will always be missed along with Juanita. God Bless!
