Barbara J. Hunt, 79, of Morgantown, Kentucky, passed away on Friday, July 17, 2026, at the Medical Center in Bowling Green, Kentucky. She was born on September 9, 1946, in Louisville, Kentucky, and lived a life marked by love, devotion, and a spirited appreciation for the people and blessings around her. Barbara was the daughter of the late Freddie and Ruby Mae Lacefield Embry. She carried the values of family, faith, and hard work throughout her life.

Barbara is survived by her husband, Oscar Hunt of Morgantown, Kentucky, whom she married June 20, 1964; her two sons, Dwayne Hunt and his wife April of Gillette, Wyoming, and Kyle Hunt and his wife Jennilee of Bowling Green, Kentucky; and her three grandchildren, Dylan Hunt (Mercedes) of Bowling Green, Kentucky, Rylan Hunt (Catherine Montgomery) of Bowling Green, Kentucky, and Brady Hunt of Gillette, Wyoming. She is also survived by her aunt, Pannie Embry of Brandenburg, Kentucky, and several cousins.

Barbara was a member of Chapel Union Missionary Baptist Church and dedicated 40 years of service to Morgantown Bank and Trust, where she retired after a long and respected career. Her work ethic, reliability, and warm personality made her a valued employee and a trusted friend to many. She took pride in her work and in the relationships she formed over the years.In her personal time, Barbara enjoyed reading, shopping, and spending time with her grandchildren and her dogs. These simple pleasures brought her joy and reflected the loving and adventurous nature that defined her life. 

Funeral services will be held at the Jones Funeral Chapel Tuesday, July 21, 2026 at 1:00pm with Bro. Gary Embry officiating. Burial will be in the Chapel Union Cemetery where Kyle, Dwayne, Dylan, Rylan and Brady Hunt and Jan Tuttle will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will be held on Monday, July 20, 2026 from 4:00pm - 8:00pm and Tuesday 8:00am until funeral time at 1:00pm at the Jones Funeral Chapel.
