Larry Eugene Johnson
Larry Eugene Johnson, 70 of Aberdeen, KY passed away on September 17, 2025 at his residence surrounded by his family. He was born on November 26, 1954 and was a member of Leonard Oak Baptist Church. Larry was preceded in death by his loving parents Cleatus and Lottie Johnson, his four brothers H.C. Johnson (Myrl), N.W. Johnson, Leslie Johnson and J.N. Johnson. Also his two sisters Dimple Elmore (Odell) and Catherine Mason (Wilson).
His legacy continues through his beloved wife of 48 years, Rita Sue Evans Johnson of Aberdeen, KY, whom he married on October 8, 1976. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and everlasting memories. A devoted father, Larry is survived by his children, Bradley Johnson (Amanda) of Tulsa, OK, Angela House (Timothy) of Aberdeen, KY and Stephanie Johnson of Aberdeen, KY. He was a pround grandfather of four granddaughter's, Ocoee Gilbert of Aberdeen, KY, Tatum Johnson, Ireland Johnson and Ivy Johnson all of Tulsa, OK. His joy multiplied with the arrival of his first great granddaughter Maylinn Ellsworth of Tulsa, OK. Larry also leaves behind a loving brother Vessie Johnson (Jonell) of Morgantown, KY, one sister in law Rosa Johnson of Morgantown, KY and several nieces and nephews.
Larry's life was marked by his dedication to hardworking and commitment. He worked and retired from Nugent Sand Company in Louisville, KY, after serving 36 years with the company. He was a proud member of the Teamsters, Local 600 union. He also love to work on old cars, fish, and hunt to pass his days. The one thing he cherished the most was spending time with his family.
Funeral services will be held at the Jones Funeral Chapel Wednesday, September 24, 2025 at 12:00pm with Bro. Rodney Smith officiating. Burial will be in the Minton Cemetery where Jason Brooks, Jesse Brooks, Adam Brooks, Terry Johnson, Jonathan Johnson, and Timmy Elmore will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will be held on Tuesday September 23, 2025 from 4:00pm - 8:00pm and Wednesday 8:00am until funeral time at 12:00pm at the Jones Funeral Chapel.
