Daniel "Danny" Smith, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully at his residence on August 23, 2025, at the age of 76. Born on March 10, 1949, in Butler County, KY, Danny was a beacon of love and selflessness throughout his life.

Danny was preceded in death by his loving parents, George and Marietta Embry Smith, his brothers Leonard and Stevie Smith, and his father and mother-in-law, CB and Palistine Henderson. He leaves behind a legacy of love and dedication, embodied by his wife of 57 years, Brenda Henderson Smith, whom he married on June 22, 1968. Together, they built a life filled with joy and laughter.

A devoted father, Danny is survived by his three children, Scott Smith (Misty), Angie Embry (Tony), and Jessica Bratcher (Roscoe). His grandchildren, Zach (Angie), Jamie (Dakota), Talbert (Bre), Shelby, Walker, Faith (Gabe), Payton, and Drake, were the joy of his life, and he cherished every moment spent with them. Danny also held a special place in his heart for his step-grandchildren, Paige, Cadence, and Bella, and was a proud great-grandfather to Brayden, Branton, Paisley, Maverick, Ryder, Lakely, Tatumn, Caven, and Raylee. His nieces, Renee Fisher, Tosha Mudd, and Stephanie Dunn, along with several other nieces and nephews.

Danny was a member of Flatwoods Church of Christ and retired from Stewart & Ritchie, where he spent many years dedicated to HVAC work. An avid fan of UK basketball, Danny's enthusiasm for the game was infectious. He also found solace and joy in fishing. Above all, Danny loved when his home was filled with the laughter and chatter of his grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at the Jones Funeral Chapel Wednesday, August 27, 2025 at 6:00pm with Bro. Joe Henderson officiating. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 27, 2025 from 1:00pm until funeral time at 6:00pm at the Jones Funeral Chapel.
