Ezra Burden

Ezra Burden, age 91 of Morgantown, KY, passed away at his residence on Thursday, May 1, 2025. Born on Friday, June 30, 1933, in Butler County, Kentucky, Ezra was a man who lived a full life, marked by dedication to his family, service to his country, and a love for the great outdoors.

Ezra was the son of the late George and Goldie Goodman Burden. His life was enriched by his loving wife, Nellie Opaline Peay Burden, who preceded him in death, as did his grandson Mark Morris and his four sisters, Vera Estes, Faye Daugherty, Vena Webb, and Lucie Burden. Ezra. is survived by his children, Carolyn Swift, Michael Burden, Charles Ezra Burden (Denise), and Wendell Lee Burden, all of Morgantown, KY. He was a proud grandfather to six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Ezra was a United States Army veteran, serving in the Korean War and was a member of the McHenry Masonic Lodge.

Ezra's love for the outdoors was evident to all who knew him. He found joy in fishing, camping, and tending to his garden. His happiest moments were those spent in the serenity of nature, often surrounded by the laughter and stories of his family.

Funeral services will be held at the Jones Funeral Chapel on Monday, May 5, 2025 at 1:00pm with Bro. Paul Parks and Bro. David Daugherty officiating. Burial will be in the Mt Vernon Cemetery where his family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will be held on Monday from 9:30am until funeral time at 1:00pm at the Jones Funeral Chapel.
