Vernice Bratcher Mason, a beacon of love and generosity, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at St. Rose Sienna Hospital in Las Vegas, NV. Born on Friday, January 18, 1946, in the Neafus Community of Butler County, KY, Vernice's life was a testament to the enduring power of kindness and the strength of family bonds.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Myrtle Beasley Bratcher; her beloved husband, Larry Joe Mason Sr.; her dear son, Scott Mason; and her nine siblings, Verlene Johnson, Viva Sermon, Irene Bratcher, Letha Burden, Dorse Bratcher, Dwight Bratcher, Jeanette Bratcher, Joe Bratcher, and Johnnie Bratcher. She was also a loving aunt to her niece, Lisa Bratcher, and her nephews, Tracy Bratcher and Dean Burden, who have since passed.

Vernice Bratcher Mason is survived by daughter, Dolores Mason, and her son, Larry J. Mason Jr., both of Las Vegas, NV. Vernice was a proud grandmother to six grandchildren: John Babler of Morgantown, KY; Blake Lynn Mason, Eryn Mason, and Kasie Mason, all of Bowling Green, KY; and Alyssa Mason and Haylee Mason of Sparks, NV. Her eleven great-grandchildren, Jordan, Ella, Kyla, Samuel, Maleeah, Reeghan, Conner, Adley, Billie, Zoei, and Logan. Vernice is also survived by her four siblings, Emma Snodgrass of Morgantown, KY; Sue Beasley of Caneyville, KY; Pat Sermon of Horse Branch, KY; and Dennie Bratcher of Caneyville, KY and numerous nieces and nephews.

A member of Zion Harmony General Baptist Church, Vernice's faith was a cornerstone of her life. Vernice's interests were a reflection of her love for the natural world and her dedication to her family. She enjoyed gardening, working in her flowers, jigsaw puzzles, her greatest pleasure was found in the time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, cherishing every moment.

Funeral services will be held at the Zion Harmony General Baptist Church Wednesday, January 15, 2025 at 1:00pm with Bro. Calvin Dockery officiating. Burial will be in the Zion Harmony Cemetery where Steve Johnson, Michael Sermon, Bud Snodgrass, Lucas Bratcher, John Babler, Wyatt Long, Austin Orwig and Daniel Lindsey will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 14, 2025 from 2:00pm - 7:00pm and Wednesday 10:00am until funeral time at 1:00pm at the Zion Harmony General Baptist Church.
