Mable Louise Coy Evans

Mable Louise Coy Evans, affectionately known as Mamaw Lou, to her loved ones, passed away peacefully at her residence on Friday, December 27, 2024, at the age of 96. Born on Sunday, September 23, 1928, in the Oak Ridge Community of Butler County, she was a beacon of light and love to all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Mamaw Lou was preceded in death by her parents, Lester and Zella Dockery Coy; her beloved husband, Ores Dalton "OD" Evans; her son, Mark Twain Evans; and her 14 siblings. Her legacy continues through her surviving family, including her daughter Angie Pendley (Stan) of Rochester, KY; her sons Lynn Evans (Kathy) and Anthony Evans (Karen), both of Morgantown, KY; her brother WD Coy of Shepherdsville, KY; her 10 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Throughout her life, Mamaw Lou was a pillar of her family and a devout member of the Gospel Kingdom Church. She served her church family with love and dedication, often found in the kitchen preparing meals for any church event. Her cooking was not just a service but a ministry. Louise's interests and hobbies were a reflection of her nurturing spirit. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. Her life was a testament to the values of love, kindness, and devotion to God and family. She remained deeply connected to her roots, and she spent countless hours sharing the stories of her past, as well as her extensive knowledge of cooking, gardening, and canning with her family. She took great pride in her upbringing and cherished the precious memories of her childhood, as well as the many wonderful years she spent surrounded by her family, who brought immense joy and happiness to her life.

Memaw Lou's life was a beautiful tapestry of love, laughter, and memories that will be treasured by all who knew her. Her selfless nature, gentle spirit, and unwavering love will live on in the hearts and minds of those she leaves behind. Her memory will be a source of comfort and inspiration for generations to come.

All services are private with burial in the Isiah Evans Cemetery and under the direction of the Jones Funeral Chapel. The funeral service for Louise will be live webcasts Tuesday, December 31, 2024 at 12:00pm.
