Kathleen Jean Carpenter, age 81 of Columbus, Indiana, formerly of the Davis Crossroads Community of Butler County, passed away on Monday, November 25, 2024, at the Keepsake Village of Columbus. Born on Tuesday, March 30, 1943, in Butler County, Kentucky, Kathleen's life was a testament to the power of warmth and friendliness that she extended to everyone she met. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Russellville, KY, member of Order of Eastern Star and Lions Club.

Kathleen was the cherished daughter of the late Odus and Odea Parks Carpenter. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert H. Janes, daughter Sara Ann Rummel and her siblings Lindell Odus Carpenter, W. C. Carpenter, Ronnie Wayne Carpenter, Irene Carpenter Hudnall, and Geraldine Carpenter.

Kathleen's legacy is carried on by her beloved children, James Christopher Embry and his wife Anne, Dewayne Janes and his wife Margaret, and Robert Dean Janes and his wife Vicky; son in law Nick Rummel; one brother, Claron Owen Carpenter, and his wife Kathy. Kathleen was the proud grandmother to Megan Janes, Rob Janes, Dewayne Janes Jr and his wife Kendra, Joshua Janes , Megan Bradsworth-Cole and her husband Damian, Riley Ginn and husband Beau, Ethan Rummel and wife Kate, Bridgett Barnett and husband Sean, and Julie Barriger and sixteen great-grandchild.

Private graveside services and burial will be held in the Stephens Chapel Cemetery with Bro. Gary Embry officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Butler County Cancer Assistance P.O.
