Dale Hatcher Cohron

Dale Hatcher Cohron, devoted father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and husband, passed away Tuesday, April 9, 2019 surrounded by his loving family. He was 80. Dale was born January 29, 1939 in Sugar Grove, KY, the son of the late Marjorie Cohron Cook, and was raised by his grandparents Robert and Grace Lee Hatcher. He graduated from Butler County High School and attended Kentucky Wesleyan College. Dale was employed by General Electric and MPD, Inc as supervisor of computer operations from 1964 until his retirement in 1999. He loved spending time with his family; his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. His travels included trans-continental rail trips on Amtrak, beach vacations, and many visits to Disney World. Other trips took him throughout the Caribbean, many of the Baltic Countries, Alaska, and to the Cotswold's in England. He was a devoted NASCAR fan. Dale was a member of Owensboro Christian Church.

Dale is survived by his wife of 61 years Sandra Smith Cohron; his son Dale Stevens "Steve" Cohron and his wife Jennifer, and their children Logan Worth Cohron and his girlfriend Jacquelyn Jennings, Jacob Issac Cohron, and their niece Sheri Payne, all of Owensboro; his daughter Stephanie Hobbs Elder and her husband Joe, Stephanie's son Benjamin Dale Hobbs and his wife Emily, of Lexington, and their children Scarlett Hobbs and Owen Hobbs; his special aunt Syndey Chapman and her husband Horace of Sugar Grove, KY; his brother-in-law Duncan Smith and his wife Debbie of Orange Beach, AL.

The funeral service for Mr. Cohron will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory, where visitation will be from 3:00 until 8:00 p.m. Friday and after 9:00 a.m. Saturday. Burial will be in Rochester Cemetery in Butler County. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to The Arc of Owensboro/Opportunity Center.
