Cherley "Don" Baker
Cherley "Don" Baker, 68, of Morgantown Ky. passed away Saturday, January 27, 2018, at his residence. He was born in Butler County on May 1, 1949, to the late Dempsey and Lena Lee Baker. Don was a loving husband and father. He served in the US Marines during Vietnam. Don was a lifetime member of the VFW. He owned and operated Cousin Don's Furniture and Appliance Store for 35 years. He taught his children the tools of the trade, where they worked for several years alongside of him. He loved his community and was always willing to help someone in need. He loved to play golf and never met a stranger. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Dempsey Lee, David, Jimmy, Glen and Dale Baker.
Mr. Baker is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Joan Greer Baker of Morgantown; three children Becki Inscoe (Michael) of Quality, Joe Don Baker (Kelia) of Morgantown, Mike Baker (Jennie) of Morgantown; two step children Natalie Travis (Matt) of Bowling Green and Nena Walters of Morgantown; 10 grandchildren Sylvia & Karson Inscoe of Quality, Vincent and Avery Baker of Morgantown, Brooklyn, Bryley, Brazen and Brinkley Baker all of Morgantown, Lily & Ava Travis of Bowling Green; two great grandchildren Jayden Fagen and Sophia Roberson of Quality; brother Charles Baker of Morgantown; four sisters Alice West (Ray) of Morgantown, Pat Stanton of Leitchfield, Brenda Johnson (Rayburn) of Morgantown and Ovie House (Doug) of Morgantown.
Funeral service will be at Smith Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 30, 2018, at 1:00 pm with Bro. David Hocker and Bro. David Youngblood officiating and Military Honors by Am Vets Post #117. Burial will follow in the Sandy Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, January 29, 2018, from 4:00-8:00 pm and Tuesday 8:00 am until time of service at Smith Funeral Home, Morgantown, Ky.
