Gena Abell, 53 of Morgantown, passed away Monday, October 23, 2017, at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington KY. Gena was born December 5, 1963, in New Albany, Indiana to the late Paul Abell Jr and James "Jimmy" and Rita McKinney Hunt. She was a member of Belmont General Baptist Church but attended Cool Springs General Baptist Church, and she worked in several factories over the years.

Gena Abell is survived by her children Jenna and Marcus; one sister Eva Kitchens fiancé Lamont Goins of Bowling Green, KY; one brother Christopher Abell (Jesse Galvan) of Las Vegas, NV; two nephews Jonathan Deweese and wife Tammy of Morgantown, KY. and Christopher Deweese of Owensboro, KY; several aunts, uncles and cousins; one great-niece Olivia Deweese of Morgantown, KY and one great-nephew Evan Deweese Landgrebe of Morgantown, KY.

Funeral services will be held at the Belmont General Baptist Church Thursday, October 26, 2017, at 2:00 pm with Bro. Gary Embry officiating. Burial will be in the Belmont Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Belmont General Baptist Church from 10:00 am until funeral time at 2:00 pm. Arrangements are under the direction of the Jones Funeral Chapel.
