Lee Ann Daugherty, agricultural educator at Butler County High School in Morgantown, Ky. has been selected as the 2012 Kentucky winner of the Outstanding Agricultural Education Teacher award given by the National Association of Agricultural Educators.

Higher Ground performs

Sunday morning August 5th, Monticello celebrated its annual homecoming.  Bro. Randy Burns gave a short welcome before introducing bluegrass-gospel group Higher Ground.  This marked the fifth consecutive year of the group performing at our homecoming. The church is 207 years old.

Normally, a hot dry year would favor vegetable production as long as growers have adequate irrigation. However, when daytime temperatures inch up over 100 degrees Fahrenheit like we’ve seen several days this year, we begin to see problems with many vegetable crops.

A candlelight vigil was held on Saturday in memory of Jaclyn Daugherty at the Butler County High School football field. Friends, family, and community members joined together to honor her memory.
