The Butler County High School NJROTC traveled to Paoli Peaks, Indiana, on January 26, 2013, to enjoy fun in the snow on a skiing trip. The 40 cadets were housed at Crane Naval Weapons Station, IN.

Miss Butler County 2012, Jayme Lauren Pharis, competed in the Miss Kentucky State Fair Pageant on January 11 and 12 at the Galt House in Louisville. There was an interview on Friday along with swimsuit competition and evening gown competition on Saturday. There were 91 girls representing 91
