Jenna Brooks is happy to announce the birth of her brother, Jase Owen. Jase was born December 19,2014. He weighed 8lbs 7oz and was 21 inches long. Jase is the son of Michael and Jenel Brooks of Morgantown.

The 2015 Bearfest festivities were held on Friday, February 6th, after the girls game of a double header against Grayson County. Jake Martin and Molly Sanders were crowned Bearfest King and Queen in front of the packed stands.

North Butler Elementary, Morgantown Elementary, and Butler County Middle School held spelling bees at each of the schools. Overall school winners will compete in the District Spelling Bee on February 11th, at 5:30p.m. at the Butler County Educational Complex.

On the morning of January 19, 2015, thirty-five Butler County High School NJROTC cadets went on an ice skating trip to The Edge in Owensboro. They were chaperoned by Major Redmond, Chief Melton, Tonia Price, and Melissa Childress. The cadets left the school at 11:30 a.

The 2nd District Volunteer Fire Department will have a Rook Tournament and Soup Supper on Saturday, February 7th @ the Fire House. Supper begins at 5:00 p.m. & the Rook Tournament begins at 6:00 p.m. 2nd District Fire Department is located in the Davis Crossroads Community.
