Local schools host annual Spelling Bees
North Butler Elementary, Morgantown Elementary, and Butler County Middle School held spelling bees at each of the schools. Overall school winners will compete in the District Spelling Bee on February 11th, at 5:30p.m. at the Butler County Educational Complex.
NBES Schoolwide Spelling Bee:
1st place - Delaney Daugherty- will compete in the District Spelling Bee
2nd place - Ethan Cardwell
3rd place - Shelby Parrigan
Primary Grade Level Winners:
Kindergarten- Angel Proctor
1st Grade- Abbie Smith
2nd Grade- Addison Jones
Homeroom Winners:

Butler County Middle School held its annual Spelling Bee on Tuesday, January 27. A total of 12 students took part in the contest, respresenting finalists from classroom rounds. Sixth grader Rayna Beller emerged as the winner. Cherokee Lacefield, a 7th grader, was the runner-up. Others participating were sixth graders Aubrey Clark, Nate Henderson, and Reagan West; seventh graders Sophia Boone, Mattie McKinney, and Lewis Newsome; eighth graders Longan Binion, Keaton Diaz, Dixie Garnier, and Cooper Ingram.
