Woodbury RV Park rules approved; county clean-up days "largest ever"

Butler County Fiscal Court met on Monday, April 10,  at the courthouse. All magistrates - Stevie Givens, Kevin Phelps, Allen Smith, David Whittinghill, and Dillon Bryant - were in attendance.

After approving the minutes of March 27, 2023, the Court went into old business. Magistrates approved the Woodbury RV Park Campground Rules.   Butler County Attorney Michele Duvall made some recommendations to the rules. They also discussed the method of payment, cash or card. Magistrates voted to accept cards only.  A complete list of the regulations was not available at the time of this report.

Under new business, Butler County Clerk Sherry Johnson presented her Quarterly Financial Report.

"My girls have been very busy; we have taken in $3,363,369.97 this first quarter," said Johnson.

Johnson's annual budget was projected to be $5,393,091.47. She also reminded everyone the last day to register to vote is April 17, 2023.

In other business, magistrates accepted the First District Fire Department report.

They also agreed to put surplus up for auction and advertise for sealed bids for a 2007 Chevy Impala - one used by the Butler County Jail.

Butler County Judge Tim Flener reported on the recent county clean-up days.  

"We had the largest clean-up ever," said Flener.

They collected:

234.28 tons of trash

10.8 tons of recyclable metal

400 tires

They filled 43 roll- off large dumpsters. According to Judge Flener, the cost of the clean-up is estimated to be around $15,000.

"We could not have accomplished this without the help of the Road Department, volunteers, jail work crew, and the guys at Christian Recovery," said Flener.

The Court approved the following additional items:

--E-911 Mutual Aid Affiliation and EMS Dispatch Procedure Agreement

--Mud River Watershed Proposed Budget

--Community Action of Southern KY Lease Agreement, County Road Aid

--Transfer $35,000 from General Fund to Jail Fund

--Transfer $10,000 from General Fund to E-911 Fund

--Monthly Treasurer's settlement

--Bills and transfers
