WLBQ "Catfish" stolen from roof of the station

At approximately 10:06 p.m. on Friday, June 21, five individuals (two females and three males) apparently climbed up on the roof of WLBQ in Morgantown , cut down the "stringer" of stuffed catfish that the station uses for decoration during the Green River Catfish Festival and Independence Day holiday, and took one of the catfish. Lights were used to access the ally and roof and at least one of the individuals was riding a bicycle.  A gate, belonging to the property owner next door, was also ripped from its hinges as the roof was accessed.  All of this was captured on video and several physical characteristics and clothing were easily identifiable.  The Morgantown Police Department is looking into the matter.

"We are glad that nobody was injured on the roof, which contains several wires and antennas associated with radio operation," said Diane Dyer, of WLBQ.  "However, we would really appreciate it if those responsible would return the catfish to the station."
