U.S. News & World Report releases national 2022 rankings   

Bowling Green, Ky. – U.S. News & World Report has ranked Western Kentucky University among the top 35 Best Online Bachelor’s Programs in the nation.   

The 2022 rankings are selected according to the program’s engagement, services and technology, faculty credentials and training, and expert opinion. According to the report, “U.S. News chose factors that weigh how these programs are being delivered and their effectiveness at awarding affordable degrees in a reasonable amount of time.”  

“This work requires a serious commitment from professionals throughout our University to ensure online learners receive an outstanding educational experience and the support they need to succeed,” said Interim Assistant Director, Online Program Development, Dr. Tanja Bibbs.  

“It’s an honor for WKU to be ranked so highly among online degree programs throughout the country,” she stated.  

According to Bibbs, there are many aspects to delivering quality online programs, including faculty and peer interaction, technology, and support.  

“WKU has outstanding faculty and staff who make our online programs rise above the rest, and it requires working together to ensure students are engaged and supported,” Bibbs said.  

Bibbs stated that in addition to faculty who teach these courses, numerous professionals contribute to the success of online students, including staff from The Center for Innovative Teaching and Learning, Academic Technology, WKU Online, Library Services, Online Student Services, Online Tutoring Center, and many others.  

“These dedicated professionals ensure our online students get the support they need, regardless of where they live,” said Bibbs. 

WKU also received rankings for the following categories: Best Online Bachelor’s Programs for Veterans, Best Online Master’s in Education for Veterans Program, Best Online Bachelor’s in Business Programs, Best Online MBA Programs for Veterans, Best Online MBA Programs, and Best Online Master’s in Education.  

WKU offers over 80 online degree options, including certificate, bachelor’s, and master’s programs. All programs are regionally accredited.
