WKU To Host Mini Bluegrass Festival April 16

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – WKU’s Cultural Enhancement Series and the Kentucky Folklife Program will present Kentucky Strings: Bluegrass Music & Beyond on April 16 at Downing Student Union South Lawn.

The outdoor concert series will kickoff at 12:30 p.m. and feature various bluegrass bands performing throughout the day. The event is free for the campus and community. Bring your own chair or blanket and enjoy the music.

Featured performers include 2015 SPBGMA Female Vocalist of the Year Dale Ann Bradley, Kentucky Wild Horse, The Mt. Victor Revue, The Pennyrilers, The Carmonas and more. For the full schedule, music and other information, visit www.wku.edu/go/ces.

Becky and the Butler County Boys will be performing.

Additionally two free lectures will take place during the day in Downing Student Union Auditorium. At 2 p.m. John Harrod of Kentucky Wild Horse will host a fiddle narrative stage. At 3 p.m. Dale Ann Bradley will host a women and songwriting narrative stage.

In case of rain, the event will move to DSU Auditorium and the lectures will move to DSU 3020.
