WKU Football with Coach Wells, Farm Boy Honored
The Morgantown-Butler County Chamber of Commerce held their monthly luncheon on Thursday. The Luncheon was sponsored by Morgantown Bank & Trust and catered by Green River Caterers.
The Farm Boy was awarded the Community Improvement award. Randall Deweese accepted the award, at the Farm Boy, on behalf of Darrell and Amy Deweese. Greg Drake and Shirley Flener won the “Know Your Community” gifts from Morgantown Bank & Trust.
Brandon Spurlock , Assistant Director of the Hilltopper Athletic Foundation(HAF), shared the benefits of membership in the HAF.
“The HAF’s mission is to provide the necessary scholarship funding to allow as many student-athletes as possible the opportunity for an athletic and academic experience at Western Kentucky University and to further support WKU athletics through private philanthropy and visibility, said Spurlock.
Western Kentucky University Football Offensive Line/ Running Back Coach Walter Wells was the guest speaker for the luncheon. Coach Wells has been with the WKU Football team since 2003.
“We want you to be part of WKU Football,” said Wells. He spoke about the team and encouraged chamber members to come out and watch the Hilltoppers. “It is a great experience, good clean wholesome fun, and not expensive. We would greatly appreciate your support,” added Coach Wells.

The monthly chamber luncheon is held on the fourth Thursday at noon each month.
