Winchel finishes 17th in region, advances to state meet

BARDSTOWN - Butler County seventh grader Emma Winchel finished 17th in the Class 2A, Region 2 Cross Country Meet on Saturday, Oct. 24.

With the 17th place finish, Smith qualified for the KHSAA Class 2A State Meet.

A breakdown of the Butler County girls' cross country team's individual results from the Class 2A, Region 2 Meet held in Bardstown follows.

Class 2A, Region 2 Girls' 5,000 Meter Run: 17. Emma Winchel, 22:32.81; 40. Briley Webster, 24:26.21; 48. Maricela Rafeal Vargas, 25:17.70; 60. Hannah Winchel, 27:50.26; 75. Ally Brown, 33:11.97; 76. Kathy Lucas-Gomez, 34:03.40; 80. Lydia wells, 26:03.75.

The 2020 KHSAA State Cross Country Meet will be held at the Bourbon County Cross Country Course at 1054 Millersburg Road in Paris on October 30-31. Class 2A is scheduled to compete on Friday, Oct. 30.
