Whitetail Properties Ribbon Cutting

Judge Fields, Chamber Bd member Chad Johnson, Boyce Flener, Kim Flener, Laney Hampton, Mayor Keown, Greg Drake, James Runion.

On Saturday morning a new business opened their office in Butler County. A ribbon cutting was held at Whitetail Properties Land Specialist Boyce Flener’s office, next to the Farm Boy Restaurant.  Whitetail Properties is part of the Butler County Small Business Incubator Program.  Greg Drake, Kathryn Jennings, and Dwayne McKinney are the three volunteers trained by the UK Extension Service Kentucky Entrepreneurial Coach Institute that operate the program in Butler County.

According to Drake, people who are interested in starting a business of their own can get in the incubator program, receive business training and coaching, and if they open the incubator program will pay part of their rent the first year they are open.  This unique economic development program is designed to assist local people that want to open a business in our community.
The event featured door prizes, free food and drinks, a seminar titled “Healthy Food Plots for BIG Kentucky Bucks,” and a grand prize drawing for a RECONYX game camera.

Mayor Linda Keown, Butler County Judge Executive David Fields, and Chamber President James Runion all congratulated Flener on the opening of his office and the benefits of bringing out of town people into the county.  Flener specializes in hunting properties.
