WarrenRECC Sponsors Chamber Luncheon

Warren RECC sponsored the monthly Morgantown-Butler Chamber Luncheon on Thursday at the Butler County Extension Office.  Scott Duvall, of WRECC, was the guest speaker and shared information about the second largest electric cooperative in Kentucky.

“WarrenRECC has over 60,000 member accounts with 6,107 in Butler County,” said Duvall. 


He shared many interesting facts about electricity use and conservation.  According to Duvall a breakdown of electric use in a typical home is: heating 40%, appliances/lights 19%, water heater 17%, AC 16%, refrigerator 8%. 

WarrenRECC offers several programs to consumers to help make their homes more energy efficient:
•    Home Evaluations
•    Energy Evaluations, with a rebate program
•    Heat Pump Program
•    Water Heater Rebate -$50
•    New Home Evaluation

According to this chart you may want to change the light bulbs in your home.


In other Chamber business, the Morgantown City Walk Committee was recognized with a Community Improvement award. Mayor Linda Keown, councilmen Russell Givens and Terrell House accepted the award on behalf of the committee. Not pictured: Randall Gaskey and Mark Hood.

“All work on the sidewalks was done by local businesses,” said Mayor Keown.

Shirley Allen recognized Doug Lindsey as a Morgantown Care and Rehabilitation volunteer, and Logan Midkiff, the new administer of MCRC.

Mary Jo Franklin and Logan Midkiff won door prizes, from WRECC, for answering correctly the “Know Your Community” questions. 

Chamber President Jamie Chaney announced that Harvest on the Square is set for October 13 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; the date for the Chamber's Annual Dinner is October 9th; Green River Catfish Festival Cook Books are for sale; and that September 27 is the last luncheon of the year.
