Wanted Man Arrested After 8 Hour Stand-off in Edmonson County

Brownsville, KY (February 7, 2018)- The Kentucky State Police, Post 3 Bowling Green responded to the 7000 block of Black Gold Road in Edmonson County, shortly after 7:00 am on Wednesday morning, in search of Christopher Spencer, 40, of that address.  Spencer had multiple outstanding warrants for his arrest, and upon Troopers’ arrival, they found an unoccupied vehicle in the driveway of his residence that had been reported as, “stolen” by the Warren County Sheriff’s Department. 

Several attempts to communicate and call Spencer out of his residence were unsuccessful, and Spencer refused to exit the residence.  At 3:57 pm, after multiple rounds of gas canisters were deployed into the residence, Spencer exited the residence, but refused to obey verbal commands to comply and lay on the ground.  A Taser was deployed by a member of the Kentucky State Police Special Response Team, and Spencer was taken into custody without further incident. 

Christopher Spencer was arrested and transported to the Warren County Regional Jail by Master Trooper Terry Alexander and charged with the following violations: 

Executing warrant for Meade County for failure to appear in court

Execution of complaint warrant Jefferson County Court for Assault 4th degree (domestic violence)

Execution of complaint warrant Jefferson County Court for Assault 4th degree (domestic violence) and Criminal Mischief 3rd degree

Resisting Arrest

Troopers on scene were assisted by Edmonson County EMS, Edmonson County Sheriff’s Department, and Brownsville City Police Department.
