Wanna Evans’ Birthday Celebration

Birdie Southerland, Wanna Evans, Jean Chancellor

Sunday November 11, there was a surprise 94th birthday party for Wanna Evans after church in the basement of Monticello Baptist Church.  Her birthday was the following day.
Church member Nathan Johnson began the service by singing Wanna’s favorite hymn, “The God of the Valley”.  A short presentation followed featuring a video honoring Veterans, after which all Veterans in attendance were recognized.
After the service, everyone met in the basement for a birthday meal for Wanna. There were around 60 in attendance.
Happy Birthday, Wanna!

Andy, Thank you for sharing the afternoon with us and taking the birthday pictures. As mama said Sunday she "grew up" attending church at Monticello and we couldn't think of a better place to celebrate her 94th birthday. She is a blessing of all of her family.
