Wade Cemetery Church Rededication Ceremony/Service

A rededication service is planned for Saturday June 13, 2015 at 2:00 pm. (KENTUCKY USA) If anyone has pictures of this church, please bring them to share. Pass this information along to your family members or anyone interested in the church, its history, or restoration. All welcome.
Luncheon will follow ceremony.

Dear Woodcocks, Extended Family, Neighbors, and Friends:
In 1937, Johnny and Lottie Woodcock set aside a portion of the property at the Wade Cemetery, Morgantown, KY. for the purpose of building a church.
(Pappy) Johnny Woodcock and 4 others built this church and it stood in active use until the mid 1950s.   At this time, a larger church was built in town and the congregation moved its main worship center to the new church.  The little country church became a family gathering place for funerals, all-day meetings, etc.
The original Church Trustees have passed on, as have their children.  The current generation is now stepping up to care for and take responsibility for the church and property.
The Church is in need of repair.  The goal is to restore the church to its full glory for families to use and enjoy:  particularly, for the Church’s Annual Homecoming Meeting.  The meeting has been a tradition since 1937, but could not occur last year due to the state of disrepair of the church and its grounds.
Donations are needed for repair, restoration, and maintenance of the church.  Any help in preserving this part of Morgantown/Wade Cemetery history will be appreciated.  We hope that you and your family will be able to participate in this ambitious goal and that your children will learn about and appreciate what the elders intended for future generations.
A special restricted account is set up to account for all donations.  (Mail:  Church Fund – c/o Danny Woodcock, 701 North Holt Road, Indianapolis, IN 46222.)
Thank you for helping in this most worthy cause.  SAVE THE CHURCH.
Sincerely,
Woodcock Estate
