Volleyball: Butler County blanks Russellville, 2-0

RUSSELLVILLE — Notching its first win in the 2023 high school volleyball season, Butler County blanked Russellville 2-0 on Monday, Aug. 21.

Winning on the road, Butler County prevailed 25-17, 25-15.

Lily Glass (3 kills, 1 dig, 5 service aces), Megan Clark (2 digs), Samantha Johnson (1 assist, 3 digs, 4 service aces), Madison Jones (2 kills, 2 digs, 2 service aces), Kinsley York (6 assists, 2 digs, 5 service aces), Evana Martin (2 kills, 2 digs), Elivia Heard (1 kill, 1 assist, 1 service ace), Miley Franzell (1 kill, 1 dig) and Maelynn Bilicki (1 kill, 1 dig) each contributed for Butler County in its shutout win.

Butler County (1-2) entered the win column after opening the 2023 high school volleyball season with back-to-back losses to Muhlenberg County and 12th District rival Edmonson County.

The Lady Bears are scheduled to host Russellville for another match on Thursday, Sept. 7.
