MORGANTOWN - Homestanding Butler County blanked 3rd Region rival Muhlenberg County 3-0 in a high school volleyball match on Tuesday, Aug. 31.

The Bears won 25-18, 25-14, 25-19.

After notching the win, Butler County improved to 5-4.

Autumn Gidcumb (6 kills, 4 digs, 7 service aces), Carley Jones (4 kills, 2 service aces), Cassidy Parker (3 kills, 11 digs, 4 service aces), Alexis Burdin (3 kills, 11 assists, 5 digs, 1 service ace), Abigail Dockery (1 kill, 13 digs), Haley Meredith (1 kill, 8 assists, 1 dig, 7 service aces) and Alyssa Thacker (1 kill, 1 dig) contributed for Butler County in the victory.

The Bears and Mustangs are non-district foes.

Prior to facing Muhlenberg County, Butler County compiled a 3-3 record in the Battle in the Barrens at Barren County High School on Saturday, Aug. 28.

Butler County is scheduled to visit Muhlenberg County for another high school volleyball match on Thursday, Sept. 16.
