The groundbreaking for the Walls of Honor was held in May of 2013 and on Saturday the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5837 Ladies Auxiliary held the dedication ceremony.  President of the Auxiliary, Lynda Knight welcomed a large group of veterans, family, and friends to the courthouse lawn.  Young and old alike touched, took pictures, and traced the bricks of loved ones on the Walls. 

“The original Walkway of Honor was constructed by Eddie Coots and Billy Phelps, those bricks were  removed, cleaned,  and placed in the Walls of Honor,” said Knight. It has truly been an honor to work on this project.”

There are currently 614 bricks on the Walls and an additional 50 bricks have been ordered. Those names (listed below) were read by Jennifer Odle.   The Ladies Auxiliary thanked Eddie Coots for his dedication and inspiration to the project, as well as Coleman Contracting.

It was clear that this was a heartfelt project for Eddie Coots as well as he thanked the Ladies Auxiliary for the opportunity to give back to the community.  

The Walls of Honor adorned with service branches and flags are a lasting tribute to the men and woman who put their lives on hold, leaving home and families to serve.
