A one vehicle wreck this morning has left one man in police custody. The wreck occurred just before 11 a.m. on Helm Lane across from the parking lot for the city pool. The red Chevy S10, driven by Ricky L. White, was traveling south on Helm Lane when he lost control of the vehicle. White struck the guard rail and then crossed the road and struck two mailboxes and a trashcan before entering the ditch.

Morgantown City Police, EMS, and the Morgantown Fire Department all responded to the scene. According to Officer John Ford, White was unstable upon the arrival of emergency responders and he refused medical treatment. White did admit to taking some medication prior to his wreck. Ford transported White to the Butler County Jail for DUI drug charges.
