UPDATE: Former Bus Driver Granted Shock Probation

UPDATE: 5/14/13 Circuit Judge Ronnie Dortch has granted Sandra Ford shock probation.  She was released from Butler County Jail today.

Orginial story:A former Butler County school bus driver facing multiple charges from a DUI arrest in March of 2012 was sentenced to five years in prison with no probation on February 12, 2013.  A motion for shock probation was filed on March 4, 2013, on behalf of Sandra Ford, 56, of Morgantown.  Circuit Judge Ronnie Dortch took the motion into consideration on Tuesday, March 12, 2013.

Thirty days ago Judge Dortch indicted that his concern was what kind of message this case would send to other people who get behind the wheel. At the same time the office of the Commonwealth Attorney Tim Coleman went on record opposing probation because of the number of children (59) potentially impacted by Ford's decision to get behind the wheel of a school bus while under the influence of alcohol.

The decision is now in the hands of Judge Dortch.
