The area behind the Dollar General Store where Felty's body was discovered.

UPDATE 5/23/12 4:45 PM: The body of Recil "Dale" Felty Sr. was found this afternoon in the wooded area behind the Dollar General Store. Morgantown City Police, Butler County Sheriff's Deputies, and Kentucky State Police responded to the scene along with Emergency Management Director Terry Hunt and Coroner Marty Jones.

Police responded to the scene after receiving a complaint of a strong odor coming from that area from Dollar Store employees. Security tape footage from the Dollar Store showed Felty leaving the store last Saturday and heading in that direction.

The body has been sent for an autopsy; no foul play is suspected.

UPDATE: Officials continued searching the Green River  for Recil "Dale" Felty Sr. on Monday. His family placed flyers around town hoping someone may have seen Felty.  Beech Tree News spoke with his parents, "We have not seen or heard anything from Dale."

They last saw their son on Saturday, he was wearing bluejeans and a light grey shirt. "He had a Timex pocket watch with a green face and a knife with a red case," said his father.

If anyone has any information about Felty call 911 or contact the Butler County Sheriff's Department.

Sunday: Green River below the Aberdeen Bridge is where local rescue and law enforcement officials are searching for a possible missing person.

Butler County Search and Rescue Called to Search For Possible Missing Person

The search was initiated after family members notified police earlier today that Recil Dale Felty Sr., of Brownsville Road, had been missing since Saturday at around 2 p.m.

Butler County Emergency Management Director Terry Hunt, members of the Butler County Rescue Squad, and officers with both the Morgantown Police Department and the Butler County Sheriff's Department began searching on the river earlier this afternoon.

According to family members, Felty had gotten a ride to Hardees in Morgantown yesterday and hasn't been seen since that time.  Based on comments Felty has made previously, some members of the family came to the bridge to look for him and discovered trinkets, candy wrappers, and covers piled under the catwalk - items they believe may belong to him.

Rescue workers cleared the scene around 8:00 pm on Sunday night, according to Terry Hunt, Emergency Management Director, the search will continue on Monday.
