Two-vehicle crash sends woman, child to hospital

Logansport Road was the site of an early afternoon accident with injuries involving two vehicles - one driven by Sheila Ann Childres and the other by Dustin E. Wester.  Dispatch received a call at approximately 3:50 p.m. reporting the wreck.  According to Butler County Sheriff's Deputy Chris Reneer, Childres was pulling out of her driveway at 4164 Logansport Road in a green Chevrolet car when she was struck by Wester, who was driving a red Chevrolet 4WD pick-up.  Apparently, Childres was heading toward Morgantown and failed to see Wester, who was traveling north away from town.  Childres' car was hit on the front driver's side.

Butler County EMS was called to the scene.  Childres and a juvenile passenger were transported to the Medical Center at Bowling Green.  Wester, of 357 Wester Road/Rochester, refused transport at the scene.  Also, responding to the accident were Butler County EMS Director Brian McKinney, volunteers with the Morgantown Fire Department, and members of the Butler County Rescue Squad.
