Two Vehicle Collision Results in Fatality in Butler County

Roundhill, KY  (November 10, 2019)- On Sunday, November 10th at 1:08 PM the Kentucky State Police Post 3, Bowling Green received a call for service from the Butler County Sheriff’s Department requesting assistance with an investigation regarding a two vehicle fatal collision. 

The collision occurred near the 5500 block of Reedyville Road (KY185), near the intersection of Lock 5 Road. KSP units responded to the scene to investigate the collision. 

The preliminary investigation indicated that Paul D. Hensley (72) of Hazard, KY was operating a 2015 Ford pickup while traveling southbound on Reedyville Road.  Hensley’s vehicle crossed the yellow centerline of the roadway into the path of travel of Robert B. Combs (18) of Smiths Grove, KY, who was operating a 2005 Ford pickup traveling northbound.  Hensley’s vehicle collided with Combs’ vehicle in a head-on manner. Robert Combs was pronounced deceased on scene by the Butler County Coroner.  Paul Hensley was airlifted to the University of Louisville Hospital for treatment of serious injuries sustained in the collision.     

The investigation is ongoing and is being conducted by Detective Mike Wathen.  He was assisted on the scene by Post 3 Troopers, Butler County EMS, Butler County Sheriff’s Department, Butler County Coroner, Bear Creek Fire Department and Air Evac. No further information is available for release at this time.
