Two vehicle collision on KY 70

At 5:41 Sunday night, Butler County Dispatch received a call reporting a two vehicle collision near 8775 Brownsville Road just past the 4th District Fire Department. According to officials, a 1999 Plymouth Grand Voyager driven by Glen Mason collided with a 2002 Honda Accord occupied by two female juveniles. Mason, a 4th District Volunteer Fireman, was en route to the fire at 316 Brownsville Road of a commercial building owned by Evergreen, Inc. (a.k.a. Green River Equipment Leasing).

According to officials, Mason and the juveniles were traveling West on Ky 70 towards Morgantown when the driver of the Accord slowed down to turn left into a driveway. At the same time, Mason attempted to pass the vehicle. The result was that Mason's van struck the Accord in the front panel on the driver's side in the left lane. KY 70 was closed down to traffic for approximately 30 minutes while the accident scene was cleared. Mason was transported from the scene by ambulance for the treatment of non life-threatening injuries. The parents of the two juveniles picked their children up from the scene.

Responding to the scene were Morgantown Police Officer Travis McIntosh, Butler County Sheriff's Department Deputy's Heath West, Chris Reneer, and Joe Alford, Butler County EMS, Butler County Rescue Squad, Morgantown Fire Department, and the 4th District Fire Department.

Yes, and do you know why this accident happened? Because the "juvenile" girl driving the Honda did not use her turn signals!! Hardly anyone in ButlernCounty does! This "juvenile" had to have finished a drivers education course a some point fairly recently, but has already developed lousy habits. (probably picked up by watching her parents and other adults). For shame.
Amen..I agree.
I was not at the accident therefore I don't know if turn signals were involved or not. Thank God no one was killed. There have been way too many accidents on that road. Mr. Smrtic, I'm not sure if you have driven outside of Butler County much, but people speed, don't use turn signals, run red lights, etc everywhere I have been. I don't think Butler County holds the record for this. I'm not sure if you have any "juveniles" at home but just so you know, we Butler County parents are very protective of our kids. I just wonder what the report will list as the cause and whose insurance will pay. I say again, THANK YOU LORD THAT NO ONE WAS KILLED!
The "juvenile" driving the Honda has actually had her license for over a year, that's not fairly recent. If anything, watching her parents driving would be a good thing considering her mother drives a bus for a living.
Gary I dont know who you are or if you were there however people who were there seen this girls turn signal this happened because a man was going way to fast 80 i think and tried to pass a car while it was turning he was going so fast after he ran over this car he smacked a tree in the yard of one of the girls parent i know the drivers parents they are responsible people when something happens involving young people they are always at fault not this time that man was speeding he has the bad habit speed kills not turn singles; Rhoda, you are so right thank god no one was killed. When i got that call Sunday night I knew my child was alive, but I could only think she could have died could have been gone with out me seeing her or talking to her. I thank god every day she's alive.
amen chelsea....i agree
