Two Morgantown Men Arrested in Ohio County

A joint drug investigation by the Ohio County Sheriff’s Office and the Kentucky State Police led to the arrest of two (2) Morgantown men on 09/18/2017 at approximately 1830 hours.

Detectives of the OCSO had obtained information in reference to an alleged drug deal that was to take place in the 700 Block of South Main Street in Beaver Dam. According to the information, the deal was to involve the sale of crystal methamphetamine. Officers of the Ohio County Sheriff’s Office, Kentucky State Police, Beaver Dam Police Department, and Hartford Police Department conducted surveillance of the area.

On 09/18/2017 at approximately 1830 hours, officers observed the drug transaction transpire. Officers from all agencies then quickly surrounded the vehicles involved in the transaction, and the two (2) suspects were taken into custody without incident.

Arrested were Willard Turner, 34, of Morgantown, and Derek White, 47, also of Morgantown. Both subjects were charged with one (1) count of Trafficking in a Controlled Substance 1st Degree, 1st Offense (= or > than 2 Grams of Methamphetamine). Mr. White was also charged with one (1) count of Carrying a Concealed Weapon.

Both were lodged in the Ohio County Detention Center.
