Two Men Killed on KY 185

As a follow-up to a breaking news brief initially posted late last night on the BTN News Ticker, two Butler County men are dead following a one-car accident in KY 185.  Troopers Brian McKinney, Daren Phelps, Adam Morgan and Sgt. Mitch Hampton responded to the scene and upon their arrival they found a single vehicle engulfed by fire. The preliminary investigation shows that this vehicle was southbound on KY 185 when it crossed the northbound lane and slid off of the roadway striking two trees.


The two occupants of this vehicle were identified as; Christopher C. Deweese (33) of Roundhill, KY and Wendell G. Wilson (24) of Morgantown, KY.  Both Mr. Deweese and Mr. Wilson were pronounced deceased at the scene by the Butler County Coroner Marty Jones at 11:55 PM.

The Kentucky State Police was assisted at the scene by the Morgantown Fire Department, 4th District Fire Department, Bear Creek Fire Department, Butler County Coroner Marty Jones, Butler County Rescue, Butler County Sheriff's Office and Butler and Edmonson County EMS.

Trooper Brian McKinney is leading the investigation. The investigation is ongoing.
