Turpin New Assistant Principal at MES

Morgantown Elementary Principal Mr. J. Chad Flener and the SBDM Council members are pleased to announce the hiring of Mr. Toby Turpin as the new Assistant Principal of Morgantown Elementary.  Mr. Turpin replaces Mrs. Alicia McKinney who recently took a position in the Warren County School District at Plano Elementary where she serves at Dean of Students.  Mr. Turpin, along with his wife Tammy, live in the Auburn community of Logan County.  They have two children; Sadie, who is in the 3rd grade and Chase who will be entering kindergarten this school year.  Mr. Turpin enjoys playing golf, attending local sporting events  as well as traveling with his family, especially to the beach and Walt Disney World.
 
Mr. Turpin received his Bachelor’s degree from Western Kentucky University in Social Studies, his Masters from Western Kentucky University in Education Administration as well as his Rank I in Supervisor of Instruction.  He taught history for 13 years at Logan County High School, served as the Interim Principal of the Logan County Alternative School, and most recently was serving as Assistant Principal at Franklin Simpson Middle School.

Mr. Turpin stated, “I am most excited about my journey here at Morgantown Elementary School.  I was born and raised in a rural community and really appreciate the familial atmosphere that Morgantown Elementary and the Butler County School system thrives to provide and maintain.  My intention is to help build an event stronger structure of community outreach to the families and community members, while providing the parents comfort that their child will be provided a safe and positive environment to develop their educational future.  I am excited to become a member of the Morgantown Elementary School and a member of your community.  Thank you for the hospitality and support this upcoming school year.”
