Truck Leaves Road on Hwy 79 North

Around 9:45 am on Monday, April 23, Paul Simon, a driver for H.T. Hackney, wrecked on Highway 79 North.  According to the driver the wind blew the truck and he over-corrected causing him to go off the road, resulting in the truck landing on its side. Simon refused medical treatment.  Responding to the scene were Butler County Sheriff Deputy Trey Flener, Butler County Rescue Squad, and Butler County EMS.

With strong winds provided by that tight pressure gradient across the Bluegrass yesterday, it's not surprising that this occurred. When you combine winds of 40+mph with empty cargo vehicles, its a disaster waiting to happen.
