Truck catches fire on Natcher Parkway

A truck fire on Natcher Parkway in Butler County shut down one direction of traffic earlier tonight. At around 9:45 p.m. on Wednesday night, members of the Morgantown Volunteer Fire Department were dispatched to the 33-mile marker southbound on the William Natcher Parkway.  Firefighters found an unoccupied tandem truck owned by Foster Trucking of Morgantown on fire. The southbound lanes were closed temporary while the fire was extinguished.  One lane of the Natcher Parkway was reopened at approximately 10:18 p.m.

Attempts were being made by officers on the scene to contact Foster Trucking.  According to sources, the tandem truck had apparently been sitting off the shoulder of the parkway for some time.  A passerby noticed flames inside the truck and called 911 - Butler County Dispatch.

Responding to the scene of the fire were members of the Morgantown Volunteer Fire Department, Butler County Sheriff's Deputy Chris Reneer, Kentucky State Police Trooper Brian McKinney, Butler County EMS, Morgantown Police Officers Denny Deweese and Josh Amos.
