Tractor Trailer Fire Shuts Down Natcher

The William Natcher Parkway was shut down on Saturday evening as fire fighters battled a truck fire. The trailer caught fire between Exit 28 and Exit 29 at approximately 7:15 pm. The tractor trailer, owned by U.S. Express, was hauling laundry detergent from Chattanooga, Tennessee to Illinois. The trailer was a complete loss along with 75 to 80 percent of the cargo.

The rear brakes on the trailer are believed to have started the fire.  The driver of the tractor trailer was not injured.  At the time, both lanes of the Natcher were closed and one lane remained closed until about 3:30am.

Responding to the scene were the Morgantown Fire Department, Butler County Rescue Squad, Butler County Sheriff's Department, and Morgantown City Police.
