The Morgantown-Butler County Tourism Commission met on February 27, 2018, at Morgantown City Hall.  Members in attendance were Judge-Executive David Fields, Mayor Billy Phelps, Roger Southerland, Brenda Longhofer, Diane Dyer, Dale Willis, and Becky Hankins.  Absent were Terrell House and Doug Odle.
The minutes were approved, and the financial report showed a balance of $8,752.21 as of February 22, 2018, with no outstanding debt.  The funding for the tourism commission is provided by a local hotel tax of 3%.  Morgantown Inn, Green River Lodge, and the Woodbury Bed & Breakfast are the three local hotels.

Several guests were present requesting funding from the commission. The following requests were made:
Butler County Genealogy    $500
Trail Town                        $1,500
Butler County Arts Guild     $2,000
Green River Catfish Festival     $2,500
Johnny Rose Bluegrass Festival  $1,700
Rochester Ladies                 $1,000
Not in attendance but also requesting funding:
Green River Museum            $3,000
Butler County Tractor Show      $500
The Commission is required to keep $3,000 in reserve.  No action was taken concerning the requests. The next meeting will be March 29, 2018, at Morgantown City Hall at 10:00 am.
