Becoming a mother was not easy for me. We endured trials and heartache along that journey. I wanted a child so badly, yet it felt like I was the only person who wasn't getting my desire. And then one day....God gave me my hearts desire. And then four years later He blessed us with another child.
To say that when the child is laid in our arms, we suddenly have all the answers....well, a big fat no is the answer. Mother's instinct is very real. But knowing all the answers and how to manage everything without any mistakes is not real.
The personality of myself wants to get everything accomplished everyday...and as close to perfection as I can. I used to anyways...but I've learned that accomplishments can actually be quite simple. Everyday I want to be a great mom, but many days I question myself. Why? Is it because we look at other moms and think "Wow, she has it all together".....  We need to only make sure we are doing our best to meet God's example.
As my children are just young still, I have so much to learn. And so much to teach. I often wonder if I'm making a difference in their young hearts. Are they learning any valuable lesson Im trying to teach them? Do they really pay attention? We often don't realize these answers until we are away from home, around other kids and adults. That's when I can stand back and see their manners or hear them reminding someone to say the blessing. Those are the moments I feel like "ok, they are getting it"
It's all the same with us and God I think. Through His son Jesus, we have a perfect example. We can go to church and learn His word. Just like its easy for a child to behave at home, its easy to behave at church. But until our children are out in the crowd, we don't know if they really have learned all we teach them. Like God sees us at the store, at work, at home alone...and says "ok, they are getting it"
