Three tagged catfish caught; prizes to be announced July 4th

Hundreds of dedicated anglers braved the rising Green River last weekend to take part in the 2018 Green River Catfish Festival Fishing Tournament. The staple event ran from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, June 30 through Monday, July 2. Three tagged fish were caught during the 3-day tournament: Tanner Shain, Debbie Carathers, and Chad Cox.

There were 64 tagged fish in this year’s tournament ranging in value from $100 to $5,000.

Fishing tournament award winners will be announced at the Charles Black City Park on Wednesday, July 5, at the opening ceremonies of the Green River Catfish Festival.
