Third Annual Antique Car and Truck Show

The Third Annual Antique Car and Truck Show, held in Morgantown on Saturday, September 14, brought out automobile enthusiasts from near and far.  Jody Ellis, the event organizer, said there were at least ninety entries in this year’s show, and he hopes the event will continue to grow even larger in the years to come.

One hundred percent of the proceeds raised from the show go to the local Butler County Cancer Assistance organization.  This year’s event raised a total of $2,778.00 for the charity.  The automobile owners are not charged an entry fee, they are instead each asked for a donation.  Entry donations totaled $2300.00.  Smoke Stax, owned and operated by James and Tonya Pannell, donated $478.00 from food sales they made during the event, rounding out the $2,778.00 amount.

Kelly Givens, of Butler County, donated his time and creativity in order to hand craft the one-of-a-kind trophies.  They were assembled from automobile parts and motor company emblems. Some of the big winners were:

Clay Blyue, of Russellville, who took Best of Show with his ’55 Chevy truck

Danny Iler, of Bowling Green, who won Best GM for his ’67 Chevelle SS

Joe Daugherty, of Butler County, was awarded Best Mopar for his ’69 Charger

Clay Blyue’s ’34 Ford Coupe took the trophy for Best Ford

Charles Blackford, of Russellville, took home Best Truck for his ’65 Chevy.
