Thank You, from the McKinney Family

Robert Joel McKinney was born July 3, 1937 and passed away September 3, 2011. His parents were the late Jewel and Howard Echolis “Eck” McKinney of Aberdeen, Kentucky. Robert was survived by his wife, Christy E. McKinney of Greensboro, North Carolina ;  his brother, Darrel C. McKinney of Aberdeen, Kentucky; his sister Deborah M. Dockery of Morgantown, Kentucky;  and several nieces and nephews. Robert was preceded in death by one brother, Anthony “Tony” McKinney.

First , Robert’s family  would like to thank our God and Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for answering prayer and extending Robert’s life for 15 years with a congenital heart condition which Robert was thankful for and felt God’s mercy and grace. Also, we want to thank those who prayed for Robert and our family and those who expressed  sympathy in so many ways.  Your kindnesses will not be forgotten.

The family would like to thank Aberdeen Baptist  Church and Brother Roger Taylor for his help in organizing the service. To the ladies of the church, thank you for your kindness and hospitality in preparing the wonderful meal for our family and friends at Robert’s celebration of life.

We would like to thank the Flener family for their love for Robert and the beautiful song. To Brother Darryl Dockery, thank you so much for the “rock” you have always been to our family. The words of comfort you brought and the beautiful song you  sang in Robert’s honor helped remind us of a man who loved and many loved. And the ones of us who knew him best will love him always.

“Good Night Sweet Prince”
